Required Academic Qualification
To be eligible for medical studies, the student must meet the following criteria:
- Completion of 10+2 from a recognized board.
- Attainment of an aggregate percentage of at least 50% or above in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with English as a compulsory subject during 10+2.
- Qualification in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), mandatory for both domestic and international medical study aspirants.
- Submission of an Eligibility Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India during admission to Foreign Medical Universities.
Age Criteria
Candidates should meet the required eligibility criteria to get MBBS admission. Students should attain 17 years as on 31st December during the admission time. No upper age limit to apply for MBBS.
Qualifying Exams to Study MBBS Abroad
- In March 2019, the Medical Council of India (MCI) issued an order, making it compulsory for all Indian students planning to study MBBS abroad to take the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
- It’s important to note that the maximum age limit for NEET eligibility is 25 years for General candidates and 30 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The NEET score remains valid for three years.
- Furthermore, students aspiring to pursue medical studies overseas might also need to undergo an English proficiency test to demonstrate their English language proficiency.
- Depending on the university’s language requirements, candidates can choose between IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or OET.
Medical Requirements of Applicants
A candidate is needed to submit a medical certificate stating that he/she is not suffering from any contagious diseases.
Studying MBBS abroad: Documents Required
Once the candidate has fulfilled the eligibility requirements, they can proceed to the next step, which involves applying to study MBBS abroad. Candidates are required to choose their preferred MBBS University and complete the online international student application form to initiate the admission process.
As part of the application procedure, applicants will need to submit a set of documents for application. These documents include:
- Class 10 and 12 mark sheets
- NEET Score Card
- School Leaving & School Migration Certificate
- Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Resume (CV)
- Personal Financial Statements
- Passport Size Photographs
- Letter of Recommendation (LOR)
- Language Proficiency Certificate (if any)
- Medical Certificate
After submitting the application form, pay the application fee. The university affirms the admission of eligible candidates and sends an admission letter for approval. After students got admission, they need to apply for student Visa. Students who got admission need to report at the university on scheduled date along with the original documents and university acceptance letter.
